At the beginning of November, WSCF-Europe held its European Regional Assembly (ERA) in Sarajevo, bringing together delegates from our Student Christian Movements (SCMs) across the region. As the highest decision-making body of WSCF-Europe, the ERA plays a crucial role in shaping the Federation’s future: it is the only body with the authority to amend the By-Laws and to define roles and responsibilities within the region.
This year’s agenda covered a wide range of topics. Delegates acknowledged the 2024–2025 Narrative and Financial Reports, voted on amendments to the By-Laws, elected the European Regional Committee (ERC), engaged in programme discussions, received greetings from WSCF Global and partner organisations, and took time to get to know each other’s movements and contexts. SCMs from Germany, Finland, Austria, and France were present, with Germany holding a proxy for Belarus, Finland for Norway, and France for Italy.
A significant part of the Assembly was dedicated to voting on amendments to the By-Laws. While several changes prepared by the outgoing ERC were approved and will soon be published, discussions made it clear that the By-Laws require a more comprehensive revision, reflecting the many developments of recent years. The ERA therefore mandated the new ERC to establish, within the next six months, a dedicated committee to lead this revision process, working closely with the movements and preparing suggestions for additional amendments ahead of the next ERA in 2027.
One particular highlight was the election of the new European Regional Committee. We are delighted to welcome nearly a full team for the 2025–2027 term:
-
Vice-Chair: Ana Huette (France)
-
Treasurer: Rebekka Schwend (Austria)
-
Programme Coordinators: Jennifer Blackledge and Phoebe Parkin (both UK)
-
Campaigns Coordinator: Clara Lüpke (Germany)
-
Links Coordinator: Marline Klingsporn (Germany)
-
Global Networking Coordinator: Garen Arabkirlian (Lebanon/Germany)
They join the continuing ExCo members Jonna Rättyä (Finland), Agge Angusson (Denmark), and the Chairperson Henriette Greulich (Germany).
Throughout the Assembly, delegates discussed priorities for the coming years, including the 2026 annual project Youth in 4D on democracy and the ongoing Mission Diversity programme. Together, they identified key themes and strategic directions to guide WSCF-Europe’s programme planning for 2026 and 2027.
After two intensive and inspiring days, the preparation team (Sarah, Patrick, and Henriette) expressed their gratitude for the active engagement and constructive spirit of all participants. The ERA also extended heartfelt thanks to the outgoing ERC members for their dedication and service in recent years: Sarah Eulitz (Germany), Patrick Ramsey (UK), Jan Minack (Austria), and Benedetta Miccadai (Italy).
